“Bronze” is a contemporary art exhibition by Pierre Bonnefille, the French alchemist of colors. His work – alternately mineral, primitive, refined – draws its impetus from the telluric strength of nature.
Pierre Bonnefille creates polychromatic murals compositions, furniture, unique pieces, for architectural projects and interior architecture. His original chromatic palette is derived from pigments from all over the world. A contemporary alchemy, surfaces textures resembling animal and plant skins, engraved with graphic details, playing with light, color and space. These exceptional works are made to measure and are carried out in the studio or on site.
“Bronze” is the latest work by Pierre Bonnefille which as was first exhibited at Paris Design Week 2015 at Le Grand Palais. The work inspired by the transformations of materials, from fusions to crystallization. Pierre Bonnefilleinvites us to discover his new creation inspired by vibrations of bronze. Under the eyes and the hands of the artist, the bronze stretches out, liquefies and freezes as evanescent patterns on immense abstract canvases.
Far from the traditional work of flowing bronze and its mouldings, here Pierre only uses the powder which is transformed by his particular writing, in a personal and totally unusual approach. The bronze texture hangs from a metallic mesh, revealing landscapes, aquatic reflections, and silky traces.
The subtly shaded vibrant metallic matter, elevated to the power of an ideal substance, plays with the light, through the instinct of the alchemist who transposes his vision onto the canvases, which themselves act as indicators of the substance.
A beneficial calmness emanates from these luminous creations which are indicative of the artist’s power of expression. This peacefulness fires the imagination, leading the subconscious away on an intuitive journey.
